Whitchurch Reindeer Run: Programme of Events

We are delighted to announce the first ever Reindeer Run in Whitchurch, Cardiff in aid of Velindre Cancer Centre!

Taking place on Saturday 5th December 2015 from 7pm, you can join Wales and British Lions Rugby Legend and Velindre Patron Sam Warburton, the Lord Mayor of Cardiff, Santa and his reindeer for a 1 mile sponsored fun run, jog, dance, skip or walk from Velindre Cancer Centre to Whitchurch Village.

After the Reindeer Run there will be plenty going on in the village for all the family to enjoy such as live music, an outdoor cinema, a firework finale, and much more, until 11pm!

All Reindeer Run entrants will receive a special Reindeer Run T-shirt, a set of Reindeer antlers and a flashing nose so you will be seen in the dark!

5pm Outdoor Cinema opens Street Food Market opens
5.30pm Main Stage opens
5.30pm Disney’s Frozen showing at Outdoor Cinema (cinema goers are asked  to bring their own camping  chairs/blankets etc)
6pm Second Stage: Ystrad Mynach Male Voice  Choir and the Melingriffith Community Brass  Band
6.15pm Scooter Parade (from Velindre into Village)
6.30pm Santa and REAL REINDEER  PARADE with Elsa and
Santa’s helpers (from Velindre into Village)
6.45pm Reindeers stabled in their pen
7pm Official Reindeer Run starts at Velindre Hospital
7.05pm Reindeer runners start to arrive at the finish
point in the village
7.30pm Elf showing at the Outdoor Cinema
7.45pm Santa’s Grotto – Meet the Big Man himself and have your picture taken at the RR Media Wall in the village
8pm Main Stage – Live Music from the Big What? Band
9.30pm Firework Finale
9.45pm Main Stage – Stereosonics – Stereophonics  tribute band
11pm Stereosonics finish
