Right at Home Cardiff & Newport launches charity partnership with Alzheimer’s Society

Homecare provider Right at Home Cardiff & Newport is thrilled to announce the launch of its official charity partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society.

Right at Home has pledged to raise more than £20,000 for the charity across its network of 59 locally-owned offices in the UK and the two organisations will also work together to share best practice and knowledge on the disease.

Right at Home regularly holds Dementia Friends information sessions but it is now committed to creating 1,000 new Friends within the next 12 months. Dementia Friends is an Alzheimer’s Society initiative which aims to give people a better understanding of what it is like living with Dementia.

Right at Home Cardiff & Newport will be kick-starting its fundraising efforts during Dementia Action Week running from May 20-26th, before getting baking for Cupcake Day on June 13th – one of Alzheimer’s Society’s flagship events.

Speaking on the partnership, Right at Home Cardiff & Newport Managing Director, Joe Guishard said:

“We are committed in supporting the charity by continuing to offer the vital support for people affected by dementia to help increase their care and wellbeing. Our fundraising events and activities we have planned this year has given us a mission to reach fundraising targets, to support this fantastic charity.”

“There are currently 850,000 people living in the UK with a form of dementia, and if we don’t take action, this number is predicted to rise to over 2 million by 2051. This is why we are so grateful to companies like Right at Home for choosing to unite with us against dementia.
