There ARE kind, willing folk who will listen and sympathise with you, but can’t help unless you tell them. Would you like to contact them? You don’t need a computer or mobile phone. No problem, just pick up the telephone and dial one of these numbers below.

Please don’t feel you’re on your own; help is there if you ask for it. This list of befriending services for the elderly is just a start with companionship, but they can also give you helpful advice on various issues, eg. help with finances, mobility aids and transport. Even a small thing like the new Council service of having library books made available for you, can help with boredom. So please don’t suffer in silence, pick up the phone and speak to someone.
