Coco Hair & Beauty Rhiwbina offer wide range of treatments

One of the busiest salons in Rhiwbina village also happens to be one of the best-loved.

Owner of Coco Hair & Beauty, Helen Hope, took over the salon 5 years ago.

“It was called Zest before we moved in and if anyone can remember, it was called Amigos before that. I picked Rhiwbina as a place to invest in because I’d worked in the village for many years before that. It was a great opportunity. The village accepted us straight away.”

The salon is renowned for its hair styling service but it also caters for those seeking more than that. A wide range of beauty treatments, including nail care, waxing, massage and even an on-site makeup artist are available.

“We do a lot of wedding packages too,” says manager Shelly Gaskell. “We often head out on location to provide our clients with our expertise.”

Shelly is back in the salon after taking some time off with tendonitis, and it’s proved a canny move as the salon is now flourishing with her as manager.

“The secret to our success is our staff,” says Helen. “We have ten members of staff, each one offering the best in customer service and skills. Our salon is a family salon – it’s a salon for everyone. Our prices are very competitive and we’re a social lot!

“A lot of customers are shop owners from the village but our doors are always open to the residents of Rhiwbina and beyond,” says Helen.

“Making someone look and feel amazing is what gives me the greatest satisfaction in this job,” adds Shelly.
