Victoria Fearn Gallery celebrates 20 years in Rhiwbina

Rhiwbina village has seen a lot come and go in the last two decades. But one permanent fixture that has always been a firm favourite of locals is Victoria Fearn Gallery.

The gallery is celebrating 20 years in the village this year, an achievement made all the more remarkable given the challenges that have faced small businesses in the last few years.

Owner Victoria Matia told Rhiwbina Living:

“We are celebrating twenty years in business this year and we recently held our Summer Exhibition preview, but it was also a birthday party to celebrate 20 years in the village. It was held on the 21st June, which was the exact day we opened twenty years ago. We had a wonderful weekend and I am truly grateful of the support over the years to keep Victoria Fearn Gallery in Rhiwbina village.”

The gallery showcases local artists

Specialising in original artworks and contemporary British crafts, the gallery has an excellent collection of gifts to suit all tastes at affordable prices.

“I work closely with our artists to bring a uniquely curated selection of contemporary art to the gallery featuring well known Welsh artists and top British designers. The gallery acts as an agent for the artists and these handmade items remain the property of the maker until sold.”

Art exhibitions change frequently, featuring numerous Welsh artists such as Lynne Cartlidge, David Knight, Chris Neale, and many more. “Our exhibition space is constantly changing as items sell and we introduce new pieces and makers to the gallery. Our website features a selection of the wonderful gifts we offer too,” says Victoria.

As well as a wide variety of paintings, the gallery also has a great selection of jewellery, ceramics, hand blown glass, books, leather accessories, textiles, sculpture, and lots more.

The shop also stocks gifts

“This year, we’ve got fabulous Kimono gowns from Powder as part of our Summer 2024 collection. Also in stock are shoppers’ favourites, including Inis. All of their body care products feature skin restoring ingredients from the sea – seaweed extracts and sea minerals – that can help soothe, hydrate, and rejuvenate the skin. If you’re not going on holiday this year, our Inis products will help you feel connected to the sea.”

The gallery will make the most of their achievements this season:

“Our summer exhibition will continue until the end of August but keeps changing as we sell and introduce new pieces,” adds Victoria.

The gallery is now open Monday – Saturday 9.30am – 5.30pm.
