Secret Cannabis Factory Found at Whitchurch Hospital

South Wales Police are seeking a drug dealer who set up a cannabis factory at Whitchurch Hospital.

Police discovered the factory in an unused ward on the site while looking for a missing person. The dealer was growing up to 30 cannabis plants using the hospital’s electricity to power the ultra violet lamps need to grow them.

Hospital management have confirmed that the cannabis factory was found in a ‘sealed and unused’ section of the main building. They also added that the site is secure and that an investigation has been under way for six weeks to find out who was responsible for setting up the factory.

Bosses added that security guards at the hospital do make regular foot patrols in the area, but that they never entered of the unused buildings.

A forensic team is carrying out a detailed investigation in the search for DNA, fingerprint and other evidence.
