A lively pantomime held in May has brought the Rhiwbina community together, raising an impressive £4,200 for Ty Hafan and Tenovus Cancer Care.
The show was a real highlight, featuring a cast of locals, Charlotte from the Tenovus charity shop, and 16 members of the Tenovus and Choirs For Good choirs. Among the standout performances was Jayne Cowan’s unforgettable turn as Calamity Jane, with fantastic photos capturing her spirited role.
Audiences flocked to the performances, with attendees praising the fun-filled event. Organisers expressed their gratitude to everyone involved, from the cast and volunteers to the generous local sponsors.

“It was wonderful to see the community come together for such a great cause,” said one organiser. “The support we received was incredible, and knowing the funds will help Ty Hafan and Tenovus Cancer Care makes it even more special,” said the panto’s organiser and writer, Anthea Parker.
“We even had the Lord Mayor there on the Friday night and our pantos have raised over £16k for local charities over the years,” she added.
The production, a true team effort, saw support from local businesses including the Juboraj, Edward’s, Tathams, Deri Stores, Casa Green, Cocos, and the Little People Store.
The success of the pantomime highlights the strong community spirit in the area, with hopes already high for next year’s production. For now, the organisers are celebrating a fantastic turnout, brilliant performances, and a substantial donation to two vital charities.
