Readers’ Letters: The Rhiwbina Queen

I’d just like to say how much I enjoyed reading the article called The Rhiwbina Queen.

My aunt Andrea Smillie is in the picture of the school children. She only recently passed away. My mum Susan Smillie and their parents lived in Charlotte Square, and their aunt and uncle lived on Rhiwbina Hill. My dad, Norman Gooch, and his family, lived and had their shop on Beulah Road.

I grew up in the 60s and whilst going to Llanishen Fach School, my mum would always tell us about how much it had changed since she was a girl. Hearing these descriptions from someone else who must have known my mum brought my mum’s tales back to life. She would have loved to have read this.
