Network Rail has announced a refurbishment of Rhiwbina railway bridge, which will include its closure for over a month.
Work is due to start on the bridge on the 21st January and is planned to finish on 4th April, including night time work.
A statement from Network Rail said:
“As part of our Railway Upgrade Plan, we will soon be carrying out work to Rhiwbina railway footbridge. This essential work is part of our commitment to maintain a safe and reliable railway.
“The work will involve repairs to the existing footbridge across the railway at Rhiwbina station. We apologise in advance for any disturbance.”
Night time work is scheduled to take place between 23:00 and 7:00 on the following dates:
January 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31
February 1, 2
March 25, 26, 27, 28
Network Rail said that some of the equipment they will be using will cause disturbance but will minimise any unnecessary noise.
Pedestrian access over the bridge will be closed from the public and diversions will be displayed at the station.
