Two new events have been organised for this year’s Open Doors week in Llandaff.
On Sunday 14th September, 11am-2pm, the Cardiff Riding School will be open for visitors to explore behind the fences on the avenue in Pontcanna Fields. The tours of the stable, schools and cross country fields will give an insight into the daily operations of the riding centre and the variety of activities on offer. Pony rides will also be available for £5, but are likely to be popular, so be prepared for a queue!
And a new event on Friday 19th September, 2pm-3pm, will be a guided tour of Llandaff Cathedral, especially for parents of pre-school children. Pushchairs and buggies will be most welcome.
The week of events begins on Friday 12th September with St Michael’s College hosting three days of tours, quizzes and displays, an autumn fayre, the chance to view the Llandaff Society archive, and pre-booked Sunday lunches will also be available.
Other events during the week include: a talk by Jonathan Adams, architect at the WJEC; the Llandaff Walk; tours of Ysgol Pencae and Howell’s School; a chance to view the archive of Clarkes of Llandaff; and tours, tea, archive viewing and an organ demonstration at Llandaff Cathedral.
All events are free of charge, although some pre-booking is required.
