Llandaff lights up for Christmas

Christmas in Llandaff

Llandaff Society High Street Traders is getting into the festive spirit with the annual Christmas light switch on planned for later this month.

The Christmas “Lights On Llandaff” event, which is arranged by Llandaff Society in partnership with the High Street Traders, will be held exactly one month before Christmas Day on Wednesday 25th November from 6.30pm.

Christmas enthusiasts and local residents are invited to enjoy an evening full of festive merriment, including entertainment from Cathedral School’s brass band and Howells School’s choir.

The lights will then officially be switched on by special guest, BBC current affairs journalists, Nick Palit at 7pm.

Kevin Gearey of K2 Coffee Shop of Llandaff Society of High Street Traders, said: “The Llandaff Lights On evening is always a great time for the village to get together, enjoy the festivities and get into the Christmas spirit. We are very grateful to local businesses, retailers and the community who get involved and help make the event more special.”

Drivers and visitors are asked to plan ahead and find alternative routes on the evening as the High Street will be closed to traffic between 6pm and 9pm.

Last year’s Lights On evening was a spectacular event with over 3100 people enjoying the festivities. Llandaff’s Hair Flair hairdressers gave a fun performance as the characters from popular film “Frozen” while Casualty actor and former strictly contestant, Patrick Robinson, switched the lights on.
