2017 Sri Lanka Trek for Cardiff and The Vale Marie Curie Hospice

Want to do something special for a cause close to your heart?  The Marie Curie Charity trek in Sri Lanka is the perfect opportunity to explore somewhere new at the same time as raising money for this superb charity for people living with any terminal illness, and their families.

Sri Lanka is a tiny country packed full of natural wonders.  This ten-day trip in November 2017 has five days of trekking with the most breathtaking views imaginable.  We will take you to the most stunning highlights of this incredible country through beautiful jungle, forest trails, small villages and ancient cities. The group of 30-40 will include people of all ages and backgrounds, either on their own or with friends and relatives.

Trekking for your local Marie Curie hospice in Cardiff and The Vale will help us to continue providing care and quality of life for people with terminal illnesses and vital support for their families.  Last year our dedicated doctors and nurses cared for 868 patients at a cost of over £3.3 million. This would not be possible without the support of our trekkers.

The trek runs from Thursday 16 to Saturday 25 November, 2017. Included are return flights to Colombo, local transfers, accommodation, luggage transfers while trekking and all meals, except in your free time.  We also provide a trek leader and doctor as well as training guides and tips to get you ready for the big challenge.

The trek is graded challenging and is designed to suit people who are fit and have trained to take part.  You must be at least 18 years old to register. There is a £250 registration fee and you will need to raise £3,500 minimum sponsorship.  We’ll give you lots of fundraising, plus personal support from a local community fundraiser to help you smash your fundraising target.
