Travellers take up residence in Rhiwbina

Caedelyn

A large travelling community has taken up residence in Caedelyn Park.

Around 20 caravans and motor homes have been parked on the fields that dog walkers and children usually use.

Councillor Jayne Cowan insisted that she was doing everything she could to help sort the situation. She told Rhiwbina Living:

“I am liaising with the Council and the police to help sort the matter but the travellers are obviously aware of the rules.”

Vehicles were spotted driving around the fields at high speed by some residents. One resident said:

“I had terrible trouble trying to get my van onto the field when I needed access. These people are just driving around like they own the place.”

Council officials are investigating the situation.
